Privacy Policy for Harriet’s House & Health Yourself Complementary Therapy Practice

Introduction

Welcome to our Privacy Policy Notice. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in how we handle your personal data. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, store, and protect your information in compliance with UK GDPR.

Who We Are

Health Yourself is a UK-based complementary therapy practice offering a range of services, including therapy sessions (online and in person) and outdoor sauna and retreat experiences. There are a number of individual practitioners that work at Harriet’s House. This privacy policy notice only covers Health Yourself activities run by Harriet Getley.

Information We Collect

  • Personal Information: We collect your name, address, email, date of birth, telephone number, and emergency contact details.

  • Health Information: We gather health details to ensure your safety during sessions and to provide personalised lifestyle advice and complementary health practises. Examples include information about heart conditions for sauna and cold dip activities and a more detailed medical history for homeopathy.

  • Homeopathic Case Notes: Health Yourself collects detailed case notes to match your symptom picture to a homeopathic remedy. These notes are retained in accordance with guidance from the governing body Association for Natural Medicine (ANM). Best practice states this is for at least seven years or until you reach 25 years of age if you are a minor. The hand written notes are kept in a secure locked cabinet that only the Homeopath has access to.

In Short: We collect necessary personal and health information to ensure safety and personalize your treatment.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and manage our therapy, retreat and sauna services.

  • To communicate with you about appointments and services.

  • To ensure safety and tailor treatments based on your health needs.

  • To comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

In Short: Your data helps us deliver safe and customized services.

GDPR Compliance

  • Legal Basis for Processing: We process your data based on consent, contractual necessity, and legal obligations.

  • Data Retention: Personal and health data are retained as per legal requirements and best practices—seven years for adults, or until age 25 for minors.

  • Data Subject Rights: You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your data, and to object to or restrict processing.

In Short: We process your data lawfully and respect your rights under GDPR.

Data Transfers

We do not transfer your personal data outside the UK or EU. Should this change, we will ensure compliance with adequacy decisions and inform you accordingly.

In Short: Your data stays within the UK/EU unless otherwise notified.

Collaborations with Third Parties

We occasionally collaborate with other practitioners to host retreat days and offer a diverse range of services at our practice. In these instances, we may share your personal data with these trusted third parties to enhance your experience and provide comprehensive services. A list of who these practitioners are and what information is shared is available on written email request. (Email address listed at the end of this document).
